What languages does SipoorAI support?
SipoorAI fully supports Hebrew, English, Russian, and Arabic. Not just the website, but everything: the questions your storyteller receives, the recording experience, and the final printed book. During the order process, you choose the language for the book and the questions separately from your browsing language. So you can navigate and order in Hebrew while your Russian-speaking grandparent receives their questions and tells their story entirely in Russian, and gets a beautifully printed book in Russian too. Every family member uses SipoorAI in the language they're most comfortable with.
What's the difference between SipoorAI and written diaries?
The key difference: no writing required. With a regular journal, you have to sit down and write – and most people never finish. With SipoorAI, you just talk, and the book writes itself.
How does it actually work?
Each week, your loved one receives an SMS with a simple link. They tap it – no passwords, no apps to install – and can immediately record themselves answering the question via audio or video. Our AI then transforms their words into beautifully written chapters.
What if my parents aren't tech-savvy?
We designed this for everyone. They receive an SMS, tap a link, and press record. That's it. No apps, no logins, no complicated steps. If they can open a text message, they can use SipoorAI.
How do the QR codes in the book work?
Each chapter can include a QR code that links to the original video recording. Family members simply scan with their phone camera to watch and hear the storyteller in their own voice – bringing the written words to life.
What happens to the video recordings?
Videos are stored securely in the cloud. The first year of storage is included free. After that, a small annual fee keeps your videos accessible forever through the QR codes in the book. You can also download them anytime.
Where is my data stored?
All your recordings, photos, transcripts, and chapters are stored in AWS Frankfurt, Germany. Our application and database servers run in Hetzner Falkenstein, Germany. Everything stays inside the European Union. Your data does not leave EU jurisdiction. See our Trust & Security page for full details.
Who can listen to my recordings?
Only you and the family members you invite. Your recordings are encrypted at rest with a key we control. Even our security audit tools cannot read the contents. Our AI (Claude via AWS Bedrock EU) transcribes audio to text to draft chapters, and those drafts are only visible to your invited family.
Is my family's content private and secure?
Absolutely. Your stories belong to you. Only people you invite can access the content. We never share or use your personal stories for any purpose other than creating your book.
Can we edit the content before printing?
Yes! Family members can review, edit, add photos, and refine the AI-generated text before printing. You have full control over what goes into the final book.
What if we don't finish all the questions?
There's no pressure to complete everything. The book is built from whatever stories have been collected. You can print at any stage – whether you have 5 chapters or 50. Every story matters.
Isn't it a little expensive?
Quite the opposite. A professional life story writer charges 10,000–30,000 NIS, and the process takes months. A podcast studio costs 4,000–9,000 NIS, and usually without a printed book. Can I use existing recordings?
Yes! If you already have audio or video recordings (from a family interview, voice memo, or any other source), you can upload them directly. We support MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and more (up to 1GB). Each recording is transcribed and turned into a polished biography chapter automatically.
